I am an Oxford University graduate specialising in psychodynamic therapy, with earlier training in integrative approaches. At the University of Oxford, I work as a Senior Counsellor and Service Manager. My work for the University counselling includes providing short-term counselling to students, as well as supervision and consultation across the collegiate University. I offer welfare guidance and consultation to college and welfare teams.
I currently manage and lead the Oxford University Specialist Mental Health and Autism Mentoring Service within the Disability Advisory Service (DAS), with responsibility for safeguarding responses and the day-to-day management of a multidisciplinary team of approximately 15 staff. Alongside this, I supervise welfare professionals across colleges and contribute to institutional policy, risk management, and best-practice responses to student mental health concerns.
I have over 20 years of experience in mental health, including more than 17 years at the University of Oxford, working across a range of roles, including counsellor, supervisor, group facilitator, specialist mentor, service manager, and university staff counsellor. My wider professional background includes work in drug and alcohol misuse services, homelessness services, and community mental health support for individuals with severe and enduring mental health difficulties. I am also an Independent Member of the Oxfordshire Social Services Fostering Panel.
Education
I maintain a small private practice offering counselling, mentoring, and clinical supervision. I currently work online.
I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space in which to explore the issues that are troubling you, at your own pace.
My practice is integrative, and I work flexibly to support people using short-term, proactive, and solution-focused approaches where this is most helpful. Equally, I am able to offer long-term psychotherapy when deeper or ongoing work is needed.
I am a registered and accredited psychotherapist (BACP registration number 113103) and work in accordance with the ethical framework, professional standards, and guidance of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
